Colour Blending with Fusion Mineral Paint – Home Revival

Blending Fusion.

I had been wanting to try this technique for a while now and there are a few talented women who rock this style using a chalk-based paint. I wanted to see if blending Fusion would be as easy, and the short answer is YES.

Fusion’s perfect for blending! I had no trouble at all getting different shades from just a few colours and if you’d like to see how easy it is to custom blend your own colours check out these YouTube Video’s Jennylyn did a while ago.

Blending the colours was the easy part, knowing where to put it had me at a loss. You see, I think this technique would be better suited to someone with an artistic flare…. I struggle to draw a stick man! I had to keep referring to old painted doors on Pinterest to better give me an idea of where to add the grungy bits.

For this project, I used Little Whale, Champness, Prairie Sunset a little Fort York Red, Raw Silk and some Fresco. You can get all of these products in my online shop

Comfort Zone

During the process, I was ready to give up and paint it white!! I really didn’t enjoy it and I think that’s because it took me out of my comfort zone. I am a technical painter by which I mean I like to know the steps, I like knowing what to do next. With this, I had to guess! and that made me feel like a kid with crayons.

So I can’t say I enjoyed this at all and at the time I said I wouldn’t do it again, the only reason I persevered is, I thought what is the worse that can happen? It could look rubbish and I could repaint it.  I’m really glad I did because I do love the end result! I can’t believe I did it, I feel a little bit arty!! ha

The moral of this little tale is GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!!!!!
